Exactly one year ago my best friend engaged me. Finally!! Not that I didn’t love dating him but I think we all agree, it was time. 🙂 I think back to that really special night and can’t believe all of the time, thought and care he put into his proposal. With every single detail I know he was making sure I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt how much he loves me. And talk about starting our life together on the right foot – surrounded by those who are nearest and dearest to us (including you lucky folks on the iPad) giving glory to God. Thank you, Husband, for putting so much care into sweeping me off my feet. Thank you friends and family for taking time to surround us with your love and celebration. What a fun night that was!

I love that we live so close to Old Town because every time I walk through the plaza my heart races just a little bit thinking back on our happy engagement story. I can’t believe it’s just been a year since our engagement. So much has happened!

We got married. WHOOHOO!

 We moved.

[Why isn’t there ever a picture of the moving process?]

And we committed to a year-long mission trip.

[see this blog post for more information!]

And not only has a lot happened in our lives this past year but there has been a lot happening in our family as well!

We have a new nephew.

Both the Johanssons and Mancinis moved.

(Cathryn and I like to keep Mom extra crazy by planning big-life moments at the same time).

[Again, why are there never any pictures from a move!?]

This wonderful family is back in Albuquerque.
hooray!

hooray!

And Mom Mancini is off changing the world in Israel.
We are so proud of her!

I look back on this year and am floored at God’s blessing. Forgive me for my impatience, dear Lord, because everything in Your timing is PERFECT. As a couple, we are blessed with such a wonderful, supportive family. And I am blessed with such an amazing man. J.J., thank you for wooing me all those years ago, for sticking by me in my craziness, for loving me through my selfishness and for leading me closer to God. I can’t imagine life without you and want to soak up every single moment fully enjoying and savoring each memory we get to make together.

Pondering his next world-changing move :)

Pondering his next world-changing move 🙂

You are my knight in shining armor, my prince charming, my best friend.

And guess what? I LOVE YOU because…. well, I’ll save that for a more private moment 😉
